Who is Anasma?

Anasma is a multifaceted artist: dance choreographer, performer, artistic director, teacher and teacher trainer. Stage has always felt like home to her. Re-known for her storytelling and her visionary creativity, Anasma loves transmitting to audiences and students. She dedicates herself to helping dancers and future teachers reveal their superpowers by expressing who they are through movement and words. She is grateful to have been accomplishing her life mission : enabling a connexion of body, heart, mind, soul and Consciouness. In one word, what she wants to be remember by is: “transmission”. Her classes encompass technique, depth, playtime, self exploration…

French-American with Tunisian-Vietnamese origins, Anasma is a true world citizen. Passionate with dance since childhood she started fusing styles very naturally.  After studying a large number of movement modalities, her largest fields of movement research and Academic degrees encompass Yoga (Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Aerial, Prenatal, Postnatal), Contemporary and Modern dance, Raqs Sharqi and Waving, a branch of Popping.  She is now deepening her body awareness and helping non-dancers connect their minds and bodies as she is finishing her Sophrology therapist degree. 

Anasma has founded her online studio: Yoga Dance Air, offering regular classes, workshops and on-demand programs. For pros, she is offering mentorship program and teacher trainings of Yoga Dance Air, Oriental dance fusion and Aerial yoga dance air. 

After finishing her MA in Business Management, she moved to NYC for five years where she realized her forever dream to become a touring performer, worked with Bellyqueen, and co-founded the NY Theatrical Bellydance Conference with Ranya Renée. She was also featured on numerous instructional DVDs mixing Bellydance Hip Hop, and Pantomime opening the doors of international festivals and dance school in over 40 countries. Back in France, With her partner in crime, muse, mentor, best friend Linda Faoro, Anasma co-founded the Gates to Fusion and International Urban Bellydance Collective. She added academic dance tools to her explorations by becoming a  State recognized Contemporary Dance teacher, deepening her research about anatomy, pedagogy, music and history of dance. An extensive training and experience as Yoga Teacher brought to her life a lot of interiority, letting go, alinement, kindness, breath control... Thanking her numerous teachers and colleagues, Anasma cites her major influences as Dominique Lesdema, Linda Faoro, Future Daniel E Kelley III, Mathieu Boldron, Tjarda Van Straten, Phat Vuong, Laurence Cohen, Thierry Verger.

Over twenty years, she has created many full productions. Blessing each show for what it elevates in her, she is now performing 50mins shows with musical ensembles in French Operas houses (Metz, St Etienne, Avignon). She has choreographed three solo one- woman shows in the past two years, which are presented to general audiences, in schools, to families and to senior citizens.

Anasma is a mother of two. She loves traveling, discovering new streets, and daily walks on the beach, using adventureously her roof tent. Epicurian, she enjoys yummy home made food and cooking. She loves spending quality time with friends and loved ones. Eternal learner and explorer, she currently listens to podcasts about neuroscience, physiology, science, health, business, relationships, spirituality, cosmos… Her favorite reads are self development, anatomy and movement analysis books... Anything physical is fun to her : climbing, street work on kids playground, swimming in a the cold sea, running, taking a parkour or jazz class... Her go to drink : dirty chaï. She loves chocolate.
